The origin

The grid is getting smarter.

We noticed that the average solar-and-battery household was making a dozen small energy decisions a day — when to charge, when to sell, when to run the dryer — and getting most of them wrong. Utilities had the data. Homeowners had the hardware. Nobody had the software that sat in between.

So we built it. Solane is an operating layer that connects to any inverter, battery, EV charger, or thermostat and optimizes the whole house against live grid prices, weather, and the family’s actual habits. It pays for itself in the first quarter, and most people never open the app after week one — which is exactly the point.

Brighter conceived the product, designed the brand and the app, engineered the first two years of the platform in-house, and led the seed round.
