The studio
Most great companies die as ideas. We built a studio so they don’t.
Brighter is a venture studio in Los Angeles. We conceive companies, build them with our own designers and engineers, fund them, and recruit the founders who run them.

The model
Not an agency. Not a fund. Something we had to invent.
Not an agency
Agencies rent their talent by the hour and hand the outcome back. We keep the outcome. Every designer and engineer here works on companies we own.
Not a fund
Funds write checks and wait. We write the first check and then show up Monday morning with a product team.
A studio
We start from conviction, build from zero, and stay for the whole story — co-founder for life, not consultant for a quarter.
The method
Four moves. The same four, every time.
The method is the product. Everything else — the name, the team, the round — falls out of it.
Insight
We start with a conviction, not a pitch.
Months of research inside a market before a line of code. We look for the gap that incumbents can’t see because they’re standing in it — then we validate it with real customers until the thesis is undeniable or dead.
Formation
A company, not a project.
Brand, name, product architecture, incorporation, cap table. We recruit the founding team — often a CEO who joins the idea rather than brings it — and give them a company that already has a shape.
Build
Design and engineering, in-house, to launch.
Our own designers and engineers ship the first product. Not a prototype: the real thing, with the craft of a studio and the urgency of a startup. Most ventures reach paying customers inside six months.
Scale
Capital, growth, and a studio that stays.
We lead the first round and bring in the partners who lead the next. As the company grows into its own, Brighter steps back to the board — and stays a co-founder for life.
The people
Twenty-some people, two or three companies at a time.
Designers, engineers, operators, and the occasional scientist. Everyone here has founded something, or is about to.
Sam Okoro
Founder & General Partner
Founded three companies, sold two, kept the lessons.
Lena Marsh
General Partner
Formerly product at a company you’ve used today.
Diego Alarcón
Head of Design
Believes the brand is the product’s first feature.
Priya Raman
Head of Engineering
Ships the boring parts beautifully.
Theo Lindgren
Head of Talent
Finds the CEO before the company knows it needs one.
